If you already have a primary receiver used to control your motorized dish and wish to install a secondary receiver without using dual output LNBF's and having to run a second line, you may install it as a slave.  This means that your primary receiver will still be used to control your motorized dish and enable reception of either Horizontal or Vertical polarity transponders.

Required items:
1) High frequency single port power passing splitter (or 2 iif you have separate lines for C and Ku band LNB's)
2) A 22 KHz or 4x1 DiSEqC switch if using more than 1 splitter
3) Extra RG6 coax cables for the new connections

Run the C-Band line from the dish that is already in your home to the splitter input.  The side the line going to the “OUT” on the splitter now connects to
your main dish moving receiver as this controls the dish and polarity settings. The other side of the splitter without the line towards the “OUT” will go to the slave receiver or an available port on your switch if using more than 1 splitter.  Now if you have Ku on your dish do the same as you did above and run a coax to another available input on your switch.  If applicable, the output of your splitter would then go to the IF input of your slave receiver.

If using a switch, you will obviously have to configure the antenna setup on all satellites to use the correct port depending if its a C or Ku band satellite

With this setup, you can use one or both receivers at the same time.  However, only the primary receiver can move the dish or control polarity.  This means when doing a blind scan, you will need to scan each polarity separately when using the slaved receiver after selecting a transponder on the polarity you wish to scan on the primary receiver.
